Backend Developer (Node.js) career path – an advanced 64-hour programme taking you from beginner to professional level. Complete path to become a back-end developer: Node.js, Express, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, security, Docker and deployment. Individual training (max 2 people per session), split into progressive phases with a project at every step. The trainers use these technologies every day on client projects at the IDURAR studio.

Path and detailed programme

Phase 1 – Server-side JavaScript and Node.js (8 h)

Modern and async JavaScript (promises, async/await)
How Node.js works: event loop, modules, npm
Files, streams and environment variables
Terminal, Git and project structure

Phase 2 – Express and REST APIs (10 h)

Routes, controllers and middleware
REST API design: resources, HTTP status codes, pagination, filters
Data validation with Zod
Centralised error handling
Manual testing with Postman / Insomnia

Phase 3 – Databases (14 h)

Data modelling and SQL with PostgreSQL
Prisma ORM: schema, relations and migrations
MongoDB and Mongoose for NoSQL data
Indexes, transactions and query optimisation

Phase 4 – Authentication and security (8 h)

Sign-up, login, JWT, sessions and secure cookies
Password hashing (bcrypt) and email reset
Roles and permissions
Sign in with Google (OAuth)
OWASP vulnerabilities, CORS, Helmet and rate limiting

Phase 5 – Advanced back end (10 h)

Node.js with TypeScript and layered architecture
File uploads, transactional email and PDF generation
